The Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Strategic Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif while speaking during the unveiling of a policy document titled “Strategy of Consensus for National Security Based on a Historical Approach to Iran’s National Security Issues" reacting to the ongoing efforts of Western countries to portray Islam, and the Holy Quran as threats to humanity, accused the Israeli regime of peddling the narrative that Tehran poses a threat to the Middle East, and the entire world at large.

According to the Iran News Agency, the Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Strategic Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said, “Today, we live in a world of narratives and a war of narratives, and no one understands this reality better than the Zionists. If you look at international relations, the first place that started shaping and changing narratives was Israel. When they say this, many are pleased, while they are, in fact, manufacturing reality. Do they want to show Iran’s power or are they manufacturing an ‘Iran threat? What the Israelis have been doing is peddling the narrative that Iran poses a threat to the entire world."

Vice President Mohammad Javad Zarif emphasized that the administration of the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, was a fierce opponent of the international diplomacy that resulted in the JCPOA, accusing the Israeli regime of sabotaging the JCPOA over the peaceful nuclear activities of Iran. He also recalled following the withdrawal of the Government of the United States of America from the accord, the Israeli regime was the first country to applaud the then-Trump administration for withdrawing from the deal.

The Iranian Vice President went further to describe the Israeli officials as masters of narrative-making, using Hollywood and professions like journalism and television to their advantage to pose the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a threat to the Middle East and the world at large.
