According to Vanguard newspaper The Borno Police Command has reported an explosion from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Maiduguri, which resulted in the death of one male victim and left eleven others with varying degrees of injuries. The incident occurred on Thursday during a protest against bad governance at Deribe Junction near the Federal Government Girls’ College Monguno (FGGC) Annex in the Bulumkutu area of Maiduguri.

Police Commissioner Yusuf Lawal provided a situation report on Friday to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), confirming the casualties and the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
